About the College Football Playoff Foundation and Extra Yard for Teachers

The College Football Playoff (CFP) Foundation is the charitable arm of the College Football Playoff and supports education and teachers across the country. The CFP Foundation creates multiple partnerships to execute its initiatives and support positive educational outcomes. The Foundation’s primary philanthropic initiative, Extra Yard for Teachers (EYFT), elevates the teaching profession by inspiring and empowering quality teachers through the development and implementation of programs in three key focus areas: direct provision of resources, teacher recognition, and professional development training.

College football is the most readily visible representation of students achieving their dreams of attending college which is often attributed to the support and commitment of gifted teachers. Throughout the months and weeks leading up to the College Football Playoff National Championship, the CFP Foundation takes time to focus on the people who helped student-athletes across the country reach their dreams of attending college: teachers.

The EYFT Summit (in the host city as the national championship game) and Legacy Summits (occurring in cities where national championship games have been played in previous years) are fast-paced, half-day gatherings of local teachers who come together to hear inspiring speakers and incredible performances from people who are there for one reason: to recognize the hard work of those on the front lines of educating our kids. Let’s put teachers on center stage!
